Deep End Ministries

In The Deep End, we plunge well below a surface understanding of Scripture, guiding Bible-believing Christians beyond the basics of the faith into a
never-ending odyssey of God’s Character and Truth.

“So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God…”

(Hebrews 6:1, NLT)

why we DIVE DEEP

Too many believers today are satisfied remaining in the shallow end of Christianity where eternal life is secure but earthly faith life is stagnant. A rich and invigorating life with Christ awaits all believers in the theological deep end. But for a variety of reasons including discomfort, fear, and disinterest, Christ-followers aren't willing to take the plunge.

Deep End Ministries responds to the life-transforming challenge posed by the writer of the Letter to the Hebrews - to retain the elementary teachings of the faith, but press on to Christian maturity.

"For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness,
because he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained
by practice to discern both good and evil. Therefore we must progress beyond
the elementary instructions about Christ and move on to maturity..."

(Hebrews 5:13-6:1, NET)

how we dIVE DEEP

Every word in the Bible was written at a specific time in history, by a specific person under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to a specific person or group of people, for a specific purpose. When we consider Scripture as it was understood by our spiritual ancestors, we are better equipped to discover the timeless truths about God that can and should be applied to our lives today.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

In The Deep End, we get as close as possible to the original meaning of God’s Word by anchoring our study in:

HISTORY

LANGUAGE

CULTURE

LITERARY FORM

Just as a sea anchor stabilizes a ship and minimizes drifting, our Deep End Anchors protect us from drifting with the currents of liberal theology, denominationalism, and traditions of man.

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.”

(Proverbs 30:5-6; ESV)
